MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Three Central Michigan pitchers combined on a five-hitter and five Chippewas had two hits apiece on Wednesday as CMU downed NAIA Cleary, 8-0, in a nonconference game at Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium.
CMU (21-26-1) opens a three-game Mid-American Conference series at Miami (Ohio) on Friday. Cleary is 20-26.
Wednesday’s win was the 499th for Steve Jaksa as coach of the Chippewa program.

Brandon Reed, Cameron Miller and Jordan Patty teamed up to post CMU’s second shutout of the season and its first since a 6-0 win at Northern Illinois on March 23.
