MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan football team was picked to finish in fifth place in the Mid-American Conference’s West Division in a poll of league coaches.
The Chippewas received 31 points and one first-place vote.
Toledo, with 66 points and seven first-place votes, was picked to win the West. Ohio received 69 points and nine first-place votes in finishing atop the East Division in the poll.
The poll is in line with the media poll that was released at the end of July. In that poll, CMU was picked to finish fifth in the West, while Toledo and Ohio were selected to win their respective divisions.
