MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan baseball team finished second in the Mid-American Conference West Division poll, which was released by the league office today.
The Chippewas received two first-place votes and 49 points to finish behind Ball State, which picked up five first-place votes and totaled 57 points. Toledo was picked to finish third, followed by Northern Illinois, Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan.
Kent State was picked to win the East, followed by Miami (Ohio), Ohio, Bowling Green and Buffalo.
Kent State is the defending East champion and Ball State won the West title in 2016.
