Chippewas Picked Second in MAC West

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan softball team was picked to finish second in the Mid-American Conference West Division in a poll of league coaches, released on Monday.

Defending West champion Northern Illinois was picked to win the division and received eight first-place votes. The Chippewas, who received one first-place vote, were followed in the poll by Toledo, Western Michigan, Ball State and Eastern Michigan.

Kent State, the defending East Division champion, was picked to win the East. The Golden Flashes received five first-place votes. Ohio was picked second in the East.
