CANTON, Ohio – Central Michigan was picked to finish fifth in the Mid-American Conference West Division in a poll released Wednesday as the league’s Media Day got underway at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The Chippewas, who finished fifth in the West last season, received 62 total points in the poll of media who cover the league.
“It’s motivating, there’s no doubt about it,” CMU senior defensive end Joe Ostman said. “But to be honest we’ve been motivated since the end of last season.
“Seeing those rankings come out, it’s fun for people to look at and stuff, but for us as a team we’re going to let our play do the talking this year.
