DETROIT – The Central Michigan football team was picked to finish fifth in the Mid-American Conference West Division in the Preseason Media Poll.
The Chippewas received 58 points and no first-place votes. Northern Illinois, with 133 points and 15 first-place votes, top the MAC West poll, while Ohio, with 21 first-place votes and 140 points, topped the MAC East poll.
The poll was released Tuesday morning as representatives from all 12 MAC school gathered at Ford Field in Detroit for the league's annual media day.
Following NIU in the West were Toledo, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, the Chippewas and Ball State.
