MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The silver lining? They turn the page quickly because they have to.
The Central Michigan baseball team fell into an early 8-0 hole and never got untracked Friday in falling to Northern Illinois, 18-6, in the opener of a three-game Mid-American Conference series at Theunissen Stadium.
The Chippewas (23-21, 11-5 MAC) and Huskies (15-29, 9-7) resume the series on Saturday at 2:05 p.m. The finale is Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
“We haven’t been beat in the league like this all year,” CMU coach Steve Jaksa said.
