MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan men’s basketball team has yet to play a game outside of the state of Michigan.
That’s about to change, drastically.
The Chippewas are set to embark on the long journey to Anchorage, Alaska for the Great Alaska Shootout at Alaska Airlines Arena. The Chippewas open the tournament against Sam Houston State on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. (EST).
The eight-team tournament, which is in its 40th and final edition, is separated into two four-team brackets. Sam Houston State, Cal Poly and College of Charleston are on CMU’s side of the bracket.
