Chippewas fall in MAC title game via OT buzzer-beater

CLEVELAND – Talk about tough to take?

On Saturday afternoon the second-seeded CMU women’s basketball team suffered its toughest loss of the 2015-16 campaign as it fell to eighth-seeded Buffalo 73-71 in overtime in the Mid-American Conference championship game from Quicken Loans Arena.

Buffalo guard Stephanie Reid banked in a short jumper as time expired to send the Bulls to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.

The Bulls (20-13) are the highest-seeded team in MAC Tournament history to win the tournament title and reeled off five straight wins in the past seven days en route to the title.
