MADISON, Wis. – The matches were split at five apiece and each team recorded a technical fall.

But Wisconsin managed two major decisions while Central Michigan had none on Sunday as the Badgers defeated CMU, 19-17, in a nonconference regular-season-ending dual at UW Field House.

The loss ended CMU’s dual-meet win streak at six. The 14th-ranked Chippewas finished 9-3 in duals. Wisconsin, which is ranked 18th, is 7-5. CMU’s next competition is the Mid-American Conference Championships, March 4-5, at Northern Iowa.

CMU got a technical pin victory from CJ Brucki (174 pounds) and wins by decision from Corey Keener (133), Mason Smith (141), Colin Heffernan (157) and Jordan Ellingwood (184) against the Badgers.
