The Central Michigan baseball team was within two outs on Saturday of claiming a spot in the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship game.
Then, it wasn’t. Then, an inning later, the season was over.
Eastern Michigan’s Max Schuemann hit a two-run homer with one out in the ninth inning, and the Eagles pushed across two runs in the 10th in handing the Chippewas a 4-2 loss in a MAC Tourney semifinal game at Sprenger Stadium.
