MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – With a second half filled with Chippewa pressure, the Central Michigan soccer team topped Detroit Mercy, 2-0, on Sunday at the CMU Soccer-Lacrosse Complex.
The Chippewas climbed to 4-2-1 with their fourth win in five starts. CMU looks to pick up its final nonconference win of the season on Saturday (noon) when it entertains Mount St. Mary’s (3-5).
“I’m proud of the team today,” CMU coach Peter McGahey said. “They responded to a different challenge from Detroit.”
Marle Bringard fired in her first goal of the season with an assist from Madison Pogarch to put the Chippewas up 1-0 with 7:44 remaining in the first half.
