Eighteen innings without a run.
That’s where the Central Michigan University softball team found itself Saturday after the first 10 innings of its Mid-American Conference game versus Kent State from Margo Jonker Stadium.
Luckily for the Chippewas the Golden Flashes hadn’t yet posted a run either in the opener of this weekend’s three-game set.
However, from the 11th inning of the opener through to the sixth inning of the nightcap the Chippewas kicked up their heels and outscored Kent State 10-2 to win both games of the double dip by scores of 1-0 (11 innings) and 9-2.
