MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – John Bonamego was happy, unquestionably, to get a 30-27 triple-overtime victory in Central Michigan’s opener last week against Rhode Island.
But he also knows full well that if his Chippewas expect to win on Saturday at Kansas – or any game for the rest of the season -- they will have to perform better, particularly on offense, than they did against the Football Championship Subdivision Rams.
“We have to execute at a higher level,” Bonamego said as he prepared his team to face the Jayhawks, 38-16 winners over FCS Southeast Missouri State in their season opener.
