ATHENS, Ohio - Central Michigan won six matches, four by major decision, on Sunday as the Chippewas defeated Ohio, 22-12, in their Mid-American Conference dual opener.
CMU, which is ranked 14th, improved to 2-0 in duals and wrestles at home on Sunday, Jan. 15 (2 p.m.) against Northern Iowa in a MAC dual. Ohio is 4-4, 2-2.
The Panthers, who are ranked 22nd, are 4-2, 2-0 MAC. Their league dual victories have come over Northern Illinois, 23-17; and over Old Dominion, 29-9.
On Sunday, the Chippewas got major-decision victories from Corey Keener (133 pounds), Justin Oliver (149), CJ Brucki (174) and Jordan Ellingwood (184).
