MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Central Michigan soccer team dropped its opener in the Marquette Invitational to the host Golden Eagles, 1-0, on Friday.
The Chippewas slipped to 2-2-1 and they look to close weekend on a winning note on Sunday (5:30 p.m.) when they face Loyola. The Ramblers (3-2) topped Mercer 5-2 on Friday.
“The game overall was pretty good,” CMU coach Peter McGahey said. “I was proud of what the team did in the second half. I thought they really gave all that Marquette could handle and we were unlucky not to sneak a goal in.
