MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Jarrod Davis’ backstory is a familiar one.

The latest chapter, and perhaps the next? Well, it’s just starting to get good.

Davis, a sophomore on the Central Michigan football team, produced a breakout performance last week in the Chippewas’ 42-23 victory at Kent State, a win which gave CMU its longest regular-season win streak in eight years and lifted it to 7-4 overall, 5-2 in the Mid-American Conference.

Davis returned a first-quarter kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown, the first score of his career, putting the Chippewas in front for good, 7-3.
