Central Michigan woes continue as it wraps up regular season with loss at rival Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO — Thomas Wilder scored 27 points and Tucker Haymond added 24 Friday as Western Michigan held off Central Michigan, 88-80, in a Mid-American Conference men’s basketball game at the Broncos’ University Arena.

It was the Chippewas’ seventh straight loss and they take a 16-15 mark into the Mid-American Conference Tournament. They will open the tournament on the road on Monday. The opponent will be determined.

Marcus Keene scored 37 points and Braylon Rayson added 26 to lead the Chippewas, who finished 6-12 in the MAC.
