Central Michigan used an all-energy effort Saturday afternoon in a victory at Bowling Green to even up its Mid-American Conference record at 1-1.
The same type of intensity and focus will likely be needed by the Chippewas Tuesday night at McGuirk Arena as they entertain Mid-American Conference East Division frontrunner Akron (13-2, 2-0), winners of 10 consecutive games.
Following a 99-80 defeat at home in its MAC opener with defense mostly being a no-show, Central Michigan (8-7, 1-1) was far more spirited on that end of the court during Saturday’s 79-67 triumph.
“Our guys weren’t thinking too much in the couple days of preparation leading up to the Bowling Green game,” CMU head coach Keno Davis said.
