It was a much-needed addition to the win column for Central Michigan.
The Chippewas entered Friday night’s nationally televised game against Toledo as the only team in the Mid-American Conference without a victory this month.
Poor defense and less than desirable rebounding were the main culprits in CMU’s first three MAC contests, but against the Rockets both areas played a big role in helping send the Chippewas to a 96-88 victory at McGuirk Arena.
Central Michigan held Toledo to 44.2 percent shooting including 9-of-26 on 3-pointers, while also winning the rebound battle by a margin of 44 to 38.
