Media day for the Central Michigan football program took center stage Friday evening.
Chippewas head coach John Bonamego provided a glimpse during the opening press conference on various topics including key focus areas the first week of practice, position battles, improved team leadership and how he views standout senior quarterback Cooper Rush.
Central Michigan, coming off a 2015 season in which it shared the Mid-American Conference West Division title, opened practice Aug. 5 in preparation for the Sept. 1 season opener versus Presbyterian.
Bonamego opened the presser by discussing the themes of the early practices.
“You never just pick up right where you left off the previous year,” Bonamego said.
