Central Michigan doubled up by Miami in MAC Tournament opener

AVON, Ohio — The Central Michigan University baseball team lost its first game of the Mid-American Conference Tournament Wednesday as it fell 10-5 to Miami.

The sixth-seeded Chippewas (21-36) will face either Ball State or Western Michigan Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in an elimination game.

Central Michigan began the contest in fine fashion, scoring two batters in as Alex Borglin led the game off with a triple and he was driven in on a Ryan Heeke RBI single. Another run would be added in the frame as Heeke scored via a fielding error on a ball hit by Dazon Cole.
