Central Michigan clinches share of MAC West title in commanding fashion

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Central Michigan University baseball team clinched a share of the Mid-American Conference West Division title Sunday afternoon with a commanding 15-0 shutout victory at Toledo.

The Chippewas won two out of three games in the road series and now boast a 28-23 record on the season including 15-6 in MAC play. The Rockets drop to 15-36 and 8-13.

Central Michigan jumped on the scoreboard early and often, beginning with a two-run first inning as a Daniel Jipping RBI double and an Evan Kratt run-scoring single made it 2-0.

In the second inning, six more runs crossed as CMU blew the game wide open.
