MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Paige Carey was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week for volleyball.
Carey, a senior middle blocker, was named the tournament Most Valuable Player in leading the Chippewas to a 3-0 finish in the Army Invitational in West Point, N.Y.
Carey, who hails from Rochester Hills, Mich., finished the tournament with 35 kills and 10 blocks as CMU swept St. Francis Brooklyn, topped Hartford in four sets, and downed the host Black Knights in five sets.
The Chippewas are scheduled to travel this weekend to Fairfax, Va.
