Breaking news: Marcus Keene breaks Central Michigan single-season scoring record previously held by Dan Majerle

Central Michigan junior guard Marcus Keene broke a 29-year record Tuesday night at McGuirk Arena.

Keene came into the contest versus Buffalo needing 12 points to become the CMU single-season scoring leader in the history of the program, trailing only Dan Majerle who scored a total of 759 points during the 1987-88 season.

With a spinner off the glass in the lane with 15:16 left in the half, Keene surpassed Majerle. After scoring only four points in the first half, he scored eight quick points after the break to set the record.

Keene is in his first season playing for the Chippewas after transferring from Youngstown State and sitting out the 2015-16 campaign.
