MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Marcus Keene has been named to the midseason watch list for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, which goes to the national player of the year in college basketball.

Keene, a junior guard in his first year at CMU after transferring from Youngstown State, leads the nation in scoring with a 29.8 points-per-game average.

He scored a career-high 50 points on Saturday in leading the Chippewas to a 101-92 over Miami (Ohio). It was the third-highest total in program history, and it broke the McGuirk Arena record of 43 points set 10 days earlier by Presley Hudson of the CMU women’s team.
