MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Three members of the Central Michigan baseball team were selected over the weekend in the Major League Baseball Draft.
The Chippewas’ Nick Deeg, Zach McKinstry and Nick Deeg were among the 1,206 players selected in the draft, which ended on Saturday night.
Deeg, a junior left-handed pitcher, was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 30th round; Renzi, a senior right-handed pitcher, was taken by the Chicago White Sox in the 32nd round; and McKinstry, a sophomore shortstop, was taken by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 33rd round.
