MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Sean Renzi was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week for his performance in an 8-2 win Friday at Ohio.
Renzi, a senior right-hander, allowed just one hit over eight innings for his team-leading fifth victory of the season. He struck out five and walked six.
The Bobcats’ lone hit was a leadoff single in the fourth inning. That base runner was erased on an inning-ending double play, one of three turned by the Chippewas on the day.
