Central Michigan baseball picked up the win in the first game of a weekend series against Northwestern, 5-3.
The win moves the Chippewas to 6-10 on the season.
The Chippewas started the scoring in the first with a sacrifice fly by junior Daniel Jipping to put CMU up 1-0 over Northwestern.
“First inning runs are important and we started out strong today,” said head coach Steve Jaksa.
Sophomore Daniel Robinson started the third inning with a triple for the Chippewas and Jipping drove him in to extend the lead to 2-0.
