MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – While the season has unfolded nothing like what coach Steve Jaksa had envisioned, there is this: His Central Michigan baseball team is still very much in the hunt for a Mid-American Conference Tournament berth.
And that, for as rough as the road has been for the Chippewas, is something on which to focus going forward.
CMU (8-29) plays host to Toledo (8-29-1) this weekend in a three-game MAC series. Both teams are 3-6 in the MAC and share ninth place. The top eight teams make the league tournament, May 25-29, in Avon, Ohio.
