MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan baseball team was picked to win the West Division of the Mid-American Conference in a poll of league coaches, released Wednesday.
The Chippewas, who last year won the regular-season championship, received 56 points and six first-place votes. Ball State, with 53 points and three first-place votes, was picked to finish second.
Kent State, with 63 points and nine first-place votes, was picked to win the East, ahead of defending league tournament champion Ohio. The Bobcats received 55 points and two first-place votes.
