Baseball. Chippewas Score Early, Often In Rolling Past Toledo

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Daniel Jipping hit a towering home run, Zach McKinstry drove in four runs, and Sean Renzi pitched six strong innings Friday as the Central Michigan baseball team opened a three-game Mid-American Conference series with a 14-2 victory over Toledo at Theunissen Stadium.

The Chippewas (9-29, 4-6 MAC) and Rockets (8-30-1, 3-7) play game two of the series Saturday at 2:05 p.m.

CMU sent 10 men to the plate in scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning, and was up 12-0 after three.
