YPSILANTI, Mich. – Jordan Grosjean was masterful in five innings of relief and Alex Borglin remained red-hot at the plate Sunday as the Central Michigan baseball team got a much-needed victory, 3-2, over Eastern Michigan at the Eagles’ Oestrike Stadium.

The win lifted CMU to 12-32, 6-9 Mid-American Conference. Eastern Michigan is 17-23, 8-7. The Chippewas go to Ohio for a three-game MAC series next weekend.

Sunday’s win allowed the Chippewas to avoid their first sweep at the hands of the Eagles since 1991. More importantly, it keeps alive CMU’s MAC Tournament hopes, as every win does at this point in the season.
