MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – There have been times, Central Michigan baseball coach Steve Jaksa has said this season, that the Chippewas have shown flashes of their potential.
If they are ever to break out, this weekend would be the perfect time.
CMU goes to Northern Illinois for a three-game Mid-American Conference series. The teams open at 2 p.m. on Friday, then play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The Chippewas are 6-23 overall, 1-2 MAC; NIU is 7-21, 3-3. The Huskies, who dropped a 12-10 decision to Minnesota on Wednesday, lost two of three last weekend in a home MAC series with Ohio.
