YPSILANTI, Mich. – Nick Deeg was solid on the mound again.

Eastern Michigan’s Augie Gallardo was just a bit better.

Eastern Michigan got a two-run homer in the sixth inning Saturday in handing Central Michigan a 3-0 loss in a Mid-American Conference baseball game at the Eagles’ Oestrike Stadium.

The teams close their three-game series on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Chippewas are 11-32 overall, 5-9 MAC; Eastern is 17-22, 8-6. Eastern took the series opener on Friday, 6-1.

Deeg (2-7), who tossed a complete-game shutout last Saturday against Toledo, allowed two runs on six hits, walked three and struck out five over 7 1/3 innings in taking the loss.
