MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – At the end of the day in baseball, it all comes down to the start.
Starting pitching, that is, and when Central Michigan gets it, the Chippewas have a fighting chance.
The Chippewas go to Ohio this weekend for a three-game Mid-American Conference series still very much in the thick of it.
CMU is 12-32 overall, 6-9 in the league. The Chippewas are tied for sixth in the overall MAC standings with three league series remaining.
The top eight teams make the conference tournament.
