Bill Thompson, a former Central Michigan University 400 and 800 meter runner, continues giving back to the community he said he still calls home.

Special Olympic athletes had the opportunity to visit the Intercollegiate Athletic Center turf bay for free medical screenings at the Healthy Athlete Village, which offers health services and information to athletes who can't get it anywhere else.

The Special Olympic Healthy Athlete program offers, FUNfitness (physical therapy), Health Promotion (better health and well-being), Healthy Hearing (audiology), MedFest (sports physical exam), Opening Eyes (vision), Special Smiles (dentistry) and Fit Feet, which is Thompson's area of expertise.
