MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – No, it wasn’t a victory.
But in Sara Tisdale’s eyes, her Central Michigan women’s lacrosse team showed plenty of fire, plenty of growth, and plenty of potential in its home opener on Thursday at the CMU Lacrosse-Soccer Stadium.
Marquette broke a 9-9 tie with just under 11 minutes to play and then added two insurance goals in downing the Chippewas, 12-9, in a nonleague game.
CMU (1-2) lost to Marquette, 17-4, in its inaugural season of women’s lacrosse last spring, and the Chippewas’ showing on Thursday was leaps and bounds better than the effort they put forth in a 21-6 loss five days ago at Robert Morris.
