17th-ranked Chippewas roll over Michigan State in season-opening dual meet

When you’re the 17th-ranked team in the country according to your peer group it says something about your program.

In brief a top-20 ranking says you’ve got everyone’s attention and it’s duly deserved because you’ve got a talented and proven roster. The National Wrestling Coaches Association top-25 rankings are pretty much spot on both team wise and individually year-in and year-out and the fact that it has the Central Michigan wrestling program ranked 17th out of the chute isn’t too much of a surprise.

With six national qualifiers returning and a stacked lineup the Chippewas have great potential in 2017-18 and Friday night’s 31-9 dual meet victory over Michigan State spoke to this.
