16th-ranked Chippewas gets embarrassed by Oregon State

The word that kept popping up during the post-match interview was ‘embarrassed.’

Central Michigan University wrestling coach Tom Borrelli said it three or four times following Saturday’s dual meet versus Oregon State.

Then 157-pound senior Luke Smith said it a couple more times for good measure.

In short the 16th-ranked Chippewas (4-1) were embarrassed Saturday at McGuirk Arena as unranked Oregon State (4-3) came in and promptly dismantled the hosts on their home turf, winning by a final of 26-9.

On the day the Chippewas only won three of the 10 bouts and were outscored 59-45 by the more determined Beavers.
