Spartans Suffer First UAA Loss in 96-80 Setback against Wash U.

The Case Western Reserve University men's basketball team dropped its first University Athletic Association game of the season, falling 96-80 to the Washington University (Mo.) Bears at Horsburgh Gymnasium on Friday night.

The loss dropped the Spartans to 1-1 in conference play and to 8-5 overall, while Wash U. improved to 9-4 and to 1-1 in UAA action.

Sophomore forward David Black led CWRU with 19 points, while senior guard Jimmy Holman scored 18 and assisted on five others to pull within 12 assists of the program's career record.
