Spartans Best Brandeis 17-4 in Series Finale

The Case Western Reserve University baseball team wrapped up its four-game University Athletic Association series on Sunday afternoon with a 17-4 win over Brandeis University in seven innings at Nobby's Ballpark in Cleveland, Ohio.

With the win, the Spartans split the series with the Judges and improved to 22-13 overall for the season with a 7-7 league record. Brandeis dropped to 15-19 on the year with the loss, including a 3-13 UAA record. The Spartans bats broke out at the plate on Sunday with the team collecting 18 hits in the contest. Six different Spartans had multiple-hit games, led by senior third baseman Jacob Kucia who went four-for-five with two triples, a stolen base, a two runs scored and an RBI.
