Case Western Reserve University sophomore outfielder/ catcher Jake Ryan was named the University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week, after helping lead the Spartans to wins against two of the other top teams in the Mideast Region with a big week at the plate.
Ryan finished the week batting .556 (five-for-nine) with five runs scored, one double, three home runs and five RBIs, while also being hit by two pitches. He reached base at a .636 clip for the week, while slugging 1.667. In a 21-10 win over the 11th-ranked College of Wooster, Ryan went four-for-four with three home runs and a double, while scoring five runs and driving in four.
