Case Western Reserve University graduate student Cassandra Laios earned her first career All-American honor as she placed fourth in the women's weight throw on the first day of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Competing in her first indoor national meet, Laios was seeded fifth in the women's weight throw with a school record mark of 18.05 meters. She finished fourth in the event with a toss of 17.98 meters.
Laios becomes the first Spartan woman to earn an All-American honor during the indoor season since former Spartan Erin Hollinger finished third in the high jump at the 2012 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.
