Case Western Reserve University senior sprinter Andrew Ibibo and junior thrower Cassandra Laios were named the University Athletic Association Athletes of the week for track and field, following their performances at the Kent State Golden Gala in Kent, Ohio this past weekend.
Ibibo led the Spartan men this past weekend as he broke the school record in the 300-meter dash. He finished fourth in the event with a time of 35.64, which bests the previous school record of 36.19 set by Andre Christian in 1994. In addition, Ibibo was a member of the men's 4x400-meter relay team that finished seventh with a time of 3:25.
