Case Western Reserve University sophomore left-handed pitcher Nick Denove was selected as the NCAA Division III Honorable Mention Pitcher of the Week by the National College Baseball Writers Association, following his five-hit complete game win over the then 10th-ranked College of Wooster on Sunday. This is the second time over his career that Denove has been recognized by the NCBWA. He was named the NCAA Division III Rookie of the Week on April 7 last season.
Denove, who was selected as the University Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week on Monday, struck out a career-high nine batters and came an out away from a shutout in the Spartans' 3-1 win.
