Following its best season in program history, the Case Western Reserve University men's basketball team finished the year ranked number 12 in the d3Hoops.com Top 25 Poll. The ranking is the highest in program history.
The Spartans finished the season with a record of 20-7 and became the first team in program history to reach the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship. CWRU defeated the University of Dubuque 91-87 in overtime in the First Round of the tournament and #8 UW-Oshkosh 77-74 in the Second Round. Case Western Reserve hosted the Sectional Semifinals at Horsburgh Gymnasium in Cleveland, Ohio, but the Spartans fell to #7 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor 89-84 in overtime in the Round of 16.
