Case Western Reserve University sophomore linebacker Ryan Cabrera was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week and the University Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week, following his performance against Thiel College last Saturday.
Cabrera led all Spartan players with 10 tackles (seven solo) during the team's 30-12 win at Thiel. Starting for the second-straight week, Cabrera surpassed his previous career high of nine tackles, set last week. He also registered 2.5 tackles for a loss in the game, including the first sack of his career.
Cabrera has totaled 28 tackles during the season, 15 of which have come during the last three weeks.
