Tre Boston Tested in the Secondary

Third year safety Tre Boston has been sufficient during his time in a reserve role the past two seasons for the Carolina Panthers. However, with the departure of Roman Harper to New Orleans during the offseason, Boston becomes the lead man in the back of the secondary with fellow safety, Kurt Coleman.

It has been give and take in the defensive backfield so far for Boston during training camp, as he and quarterback Cam Newton compete against one another on a daily basis. During practice last Friday, Newton celebrated a completion to tight end Ed Dickson over Boston by mocking the safety once the play was over, “Throw it my way.
