The Panthers shore up their offensive line in Daniel Jeremiah’s newest mock draft

In his latest mock draft, NFL.com draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah says the Carolina Panthers will take Northwestern offensive tackle Rashawn Slater with the No. 8 pick in the 2021 draft.

The move would come off the heels of Carolina acquiring quarterback Sam Darnold from the New York Jets on Tuesday. The price for Darnold was second, fourth and sixth round picks. The sixth round pick comes in this year’s draft while the remaining two come in 2022.

Slater is a 6-foot-4, 304-pound senior out of Sugar Land, Texas. He opted out of the 2020 season, but started 11 games at left tackle in 2019, and all 14 games at right tackle in 2018.
